The Touch is still pretty popular, because you get an iOS device that is not an iPad and without a phone / contract for pretty inexpensive. I remember when everyone had them in 2009 I mostly see them in development environments and for things like cashiers and other embedded stuff. Things where an iPhone is just simply overpowered because it's a full-blown phone. Or if you have an Android/Windows Phone and want an iPod I don't think the Touch is going away.
