I think she puts as much effort into her work as some artists. I think she's criminally underrated. Beyoncé and Katy get Grammy moms, and I see Britney's work as on-par with theirs I think the Grammy voters also take into account the factor of whether you're able to sing your songs live well. Also popularity is another huge factor in determination. Britney lacks both. While Katy doesn't always sound good live, Roar and Dark Horse and the Prism album were immensely popular that's why she got Grammy nominations. Also Katy doesn't lip-sync like Britney does. Well, I guess Katy doesn't lip synch because she doesn't dance how Britney does. She lip synched her entire Super Bowl. And Beyoncé's shows are anything but live. She even lip synched Drunk in Love at the Grammys The Grammys are just a popularity contest. I don't really see how they count for much anymore. Even Gaga's awarded work is not her best. The reason why Britney dances harder than most of her contemporaries is because she's unable to deliver live vocals properly though. The question before them is 'You can't sing live so you need to give your audience a reason to come see your show - theatrics, visuals and choreography' She has to do it double the effort because she fails to even deliver the most fundamental and basic thing a singer must deliver - live vocals. It's not something to applaud for, however you defend Britney. (I like her music so I'm not hating here, I just am being neutral and fair here) Again, Gaga and Beyonce dance pretty hard too and yet they're able to deliver outstanding vocals. So Britney is not excused. If you compare the importance of both dancing and singing, singing is definitely the priority. Did you just accuse Beyonce of lip-syncing? The Grammys are a combination between meriting true quality and popularity. It has some credibility because it's not really possible for the voters to pay attention to songs which are not promoted at all.
JohnWayne92 2,167
Thats why i wont ever go see her live. If i wanted to watch her lipsync to some choreography, id watch her music videos for free. I can go to a Gaga concert, watch her sing live, dance her ass off and put on a show. Plus, Gaga gives moments of greatness live, with the way she sings things differently. Now of days, Britney barely even dances. She walks from place to place and does half the choreography while "acting" her way through the performance. The vocals are identical in her rehearsal videos. Even the crowd noises were added in. She basically admits to it here Yeah, I accused Beyoncé of lipsynching because she does all the time. Its not even an accusation, its a fact!

Katy said most parts were live. That meant that she was going to open her mouth and sing. Some parts might be pre-recorded but MOST parts were live. Beyonce is a great live singer so show me the full video not compilations like this which can put the audio and video out of sync.

The whole thing was mimed. Watch her making of documentary. Also, those are real times she lip synched. The Grammys was all over the internet, as well as that performance of Partition. Everyone uses track/lip synchs. I'm sure if Britney put out a ballad in her current vocal range and just stood still (no dancing) she could sing live as well, she has before.
