Anduin 1,034
She isn't excused though, I even think that her "lip syncing" affects a lot her career those recent years. Glory was a good album and didn't deserve to flop. 20 minutes ago, Magneto said: Exactly. Like really? like have you never heard Beyoncé 's vocals when she sings live? She has nothing to prove. From MJ to Whitney Houston , they all had lipsynced prerecorded too sometimes. Nevertheless, as the others said in previous post, everyone knows that Britney lipsyncs at her show and they can do whatever they want with their money. If she can make her fans happy with that, so be it. I don't understand why are the non-fans complaining.

But I guess the people that watch her live have low standards. No, they don't come to the show for singing, they come for the performance, dancing and etc. Britney isn't commonly linked to singing as much as her performances these days. 광야로 걸어가 알아 네 home ground
Lucas 26,914
She was signed by singing Whitney Houston. She was supposed to sing adult contemporary music but she met with Max Martin who decided to turn her into a pop sensation and made her sing with a voice which is not her real voice. It destroyed her voice. If she tried to sing her old hits she would sound so different. And the dancing part is not accurate, Britney has some nice choreo at the Piece Of Me show and she's dancing at her best since years.

MonsterOfSpain 8,318
I just wish she would at least pre-record the vocals or sing along to some tracks. Her STILL lip syncing to her 90's vocals makes me cringe so hard Her lip syncing is iconic though, imagine going on a sold out world tour without singing a single world live. Only a legend. I mean, aren't singers supposed to sing? Her defenders act like lip syncing is normal. I guess the only time someone could be excused for lip syncing is when they have heavy choreography but Britney can barely deal with simple dancing now a days. Finally, you could say that she can't sing well and that is why she lip syncs, but Katy is not the best singer and she least tries. So what excuse is left? Watch this video. Especially from 1:30 seconds on. Then watch this. Now please tell me that Britney still cannot do simple choreography. Britney is still a high energy dancer, and more importantly puts on a show. No, it doesn't say "Lip Synching" on the ticket, but if you've watched any Britney show for the best decade you should know to expect lip synching. Doesn't necessarily make it okay, but its what she's done her whole career. Furthermore, Britney can sing. She doesn't have the most amazing vocals, but she's by no means a bad singer. And if you think lip synching isn't normal- it is. Everyone lip synchs to an extent. Even Gaga, when she turns the backing track up high during the choruses of her songs. Its because during these breakdowns, you wouldn't be able to dance and sing live at the same time. Katy lip synched her entire Super Bowl, even the crowd sounds were fake. Why does it make a difference? Lip synching is lip synching. At least Britney is being pretty honest about it and not hiding anything. What Beyoncé is doing is more fraudulent in my opinion. I mean lip synching the National Anthem? That's offensive IMO.

If not, then I don't see how Bey is anywhere near worse. And how is lip syncing the National Anthem offensive?? The difference is Beyoncé is a known singer, Britney is not. Britney hasn't really been asked about lip synching recently, if you watch any of her interviews. However here is an article where she (her team) admits there's no way you can dance and sing at the same time. However, her team is probably never going to 100% admit "yeah its all lipsynched" are they? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2656424/Britney-Spears-manager-admits-no-way-sing-live-dance-90-minutes.html Is Britney's lip synching 100% acceptable? Not really, I'm not saying its entirely honest, but you would have to be pretty blind not to know she does it. And again, almost 20 years into her career, if you're buying a ticket to see Britney Spears you know its about a show and dancing, not great vocals. Pre-recording your vocals to make them sound live, but lip synching anyways, that feels dirty to me. Just my opinion. At least Britney isn't really trying to hide anything. And are you serious? Of course lip synching the National Anthem is offensive. What a huge honor to be asked to perform for the President, at a historical event, and you cannot even sing. Britney would never be booked for that, because she doesn't claim to be a "singer" the way Beyoncé does. However if you're going to sell yourself as a vocalist, you should deliver some vocals. Everyone knows the lyrics to the National Anthem. We all know Beyoncé can sing, and there was no dancing to take away from the vocals. She's so obsessed with perfection, never messing up or hitting the wrong note, that instead she faked it! Which I think is incredibly insulting to her country. Her excuse that she didn't have time to rehearse is bullshit, when she had time to go and prerecord her vocals.
Bebe 17,093
Because Britney's never been that sort of act or that kind of performer... She was a dancer and she sold a particular image that struck a chord with people. Back in the day when she was in her prime I would have paid to go see a Britney concert, live singing or not. She was an incredible and charismatic performer. These days people see Britney live because of nostalgia I'd say. They love her past hits, they grew up with her and so on. People love Britney, they love her hits, they love her image, they remember her most iconic moments and admire her for overcoming 2007. For those people it's great to see their idol on stage, dancing around, flipping her hair and being sexy. She has been in the industry for over a decade. Her knee injury and personal problems have hindered her abilities as a performer - but she has already built up such a catalogue of iconic hits that people want to go to her concert, dance along to her hits and watch the iconic miss Britney Spears (who they love and grew up with) dance around and flip her hair around a bit. You don't go to an Adele concert expecting showstopping dance choreography, you don't go to a Britney concert expecting an incredible display of vocal acrobatics. I'm not sure I'd see Britney live these days, but I can't fault the people who would. She is an iconic and influential figure in music who basically defines an entire generation of music. For a lot of people it would be a dream to see her perform, even if she only provides a glimmer of what made her such a force and an international superstar.
