While it is a great song she could've brought out more enthusiasm. Hold Me Down - While I love the use of the Son Lux instrumental I think that the lyrical content was less than average, especially in the chorus. New Americana - Often compared to Lana's National Anthem, this song is more of a millennial anthem than a JFK love song. The top notch patriotic production and the sample of Juicy by Biggie Smalls definitely makes this track stand out. Drive - A love song that reminds me of being with a bad boy that smokes cigs and has a idgaf attitude. Reckless love. Makes you want to play this song on the road while stopping every now and then to have sex. A song to Drive to the desert or dare I say the Badlands. Hurricane - The song starts out weird in the beginning but after the chorus it definitely picks although like some songs of the album the lyrics try to enforce the edgy young rebel. Roman Holiday - A cute summer bop that makes you want to reminisce of your high school crush/sweet heart. It definitely has a lot of energy which I kind of energy for a alternative pop album. Ghost - One of her impressive song structure with a rap in the beginning and the melancholic chorus adds a wonderful combo to the forlorn lover. Colors- Also one of the highlights to the album, Colors is an upbeat yet tragic song about depressed crush and to me it kind of feels personal. Wanting to be close to someone but somehow it just can't come to fruition. Strange Love - A good production but the cringy TMI lyrics brings this song down. A feel like there a much more subtle ways approach this concept. Coming Down - A continuation of Drive with good lyrics but doesn't seem to have the impact that Drive had, slightly forgettable. Haunting - I didn't connect to this song, I find it to be lackluster. It kind of reminds me of a Weeknd knockoff. Gasoline - The unique production and the very self destructive context gives me that dark popstar sound that I often enjoy. The chorus can be a little weird but instrumental is amazing. Control - A kind of weird song that I don't know is just feels like it was created for the sake of sounding edgy. Young God - I find it to be a little bit boring with nothing to that really grabs my attention other than it tries to be that melodramatic cocky lovers aspect that Halsey tries to incorporate in her work. I Walk the Line - I feel like its a little cheap to add a Johnny Cash cover for the end the production fits with the rest of the album and I give props for Miss Ashley but as quoted by Michelle Visage "Meh." 𝖓𝖊𝖜 𝖗𝖊𝖑𝖎𝖌𝖎𝖔𝖓 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
