I spent nearly $50 on a little gift basket with some bits and pieces in it like Vegemite, Tim Tams, Thongs (Flip Flops for you Americans), A strawberry scented stuffed koala plush toy and other Australian paraphernalia. SO we waited for 6 hours at the venue to try and see her. There was me and about 10 other Crybabies all waiting for her (Adelaide is quite a smaller town compared to Sydney or Melbourne). We saw Adam but he was running late for soundcheck so he couldn't stop be he at least took the time to tell us that so I was fine with it. I also had a moment with him onstage (I'll post the link to video proof). So we wait and Melanie finally arrives and as a group we all shout WELCOME TO ADELAIDE MELANIE and she gets out the car and she glares at us, she turns to her manager and starts whispering to her about something. She then puts her headphones in after the manager has finished her sentence with "You have to walk past them", Rolls her eyes at us and proceeds to get her management to form a barrier around her so she can get to stage door. (KEEP IN MIND THERE WHERE ONLY ME AND ABOUT 10 TO 12 OTHER PEOPLE THERE). I go to give her my gift basket and her management pushes it away and Melanie rolls her eyes again. Then for her whole entirety of her support set avoided the middle section of crybabies like the plague and huffed anytime we screamed after anything and didn't like the mad crazy crybaby fans trying to support her. I gained a lot of respect for Adam Lambert however who took the time to tell us he couldn't stay but was happy to see us there and also delivered a great performance and had this moment with me. IN the song LMD you see him say Yeah Girl, Its because I was dancing and pointed to him and he pointed to me back. Omg, I'm sorry That was understandably an upsetting and disappointing experience for you. She should have thought of how much time you'd been waiting for her and how much you wanted to meet her and not act rude. BUT , as cry babies, we know how emotional and introverted she is and probably was having a hard time or maybe felt uncomfortable in that situation. She's still getting used to her fame imo and we should try to understand her as well. I think people who judge because of the 'Sorry, I'm talking' and her not letting those fans radomly take a picture of her, are just unsympathetic and not willing to understand her (this is not about you). She cares for her fans. She was actually spot crying in a Chile airport a few weeks ago because her bodyguards couldn't let her meet her fans. I understand she has an introverted personality but if you compare her interactions with fans to someone like for instance Lana Del Rey, who when she first started out was also introverted and shy; their fan interactions are very different. This incident was a few weeks before the I'm Sorry I'm Talking so she could have just been going through something personal but it did ruin my opinion of her, and the situation wasn't overwhelming at all because there were fewer people there than the capacity of her meet and greets and we were all being quite open and friendly (No crazy yelling or screaming). I totally respect her as an artist and think she has done very well to build such a strong fandom in such a short time but I also believe that in this industry you need to be kind to everyone anytime. If your having a bad day you shouldn't push that negativity onto your fans, you should embrace them with open arms and share with them your struggles and learn from them. Just my experience but totally respect you, crybabies. You should give the No Frills Twins a try though, they are up and coming from my homeland Australia and they are absolute sweethearts (I talk to them on Insta constantly) and are wicked good Messy, Petty, Beautiful, Covergirl Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
