You can tell she instantly regretted it. She took down the picture from her Facebook page and posted the apology video before there was even any real outrage. At the same time, I don't know what the hell she was thinking. She had to have known this wasn't going to go over well; both conservatives and liberals are angry. It just sucks all the way around. If it makes you feel any better I can rephrase and say it was highly distasteful and shouldn't have been published The image glorified his death in an extremely graphic way and CNN were right to distance themselves from it. When Lady Gaga reenacted rape, with an actual rapist, while an alleged rapist filmed them, that was art. When Gaga bleed to death in an act of mock suicide on an award show stage, that was art. No, it isn't like saying that, unless in your mind there isn't a clear distinction between a member of ISIS holding the decapitated head of a murdered journalist, and photo of Kathy Griffin holding a Donald Trump mask dipped in red corn syrup.
