theahsfan 13,822 Posted May 30, 2017 Share Posted May 30, 2017 To all the Honeymoon haters out there, how come you hate it? Do you find it boring? Too mellow? Too much of a step down from Ultraviolence? Personally, I love it and honestly can't see why people hate it so much- the only tracks I dislike on it are High By The Beach and 24 (never got into that). The whole album is a journey of beautiful vocals that our ears were too lucky to be graced with, and for me it represents a truly happy time in my life before my depression ever truly developed to what it is today.. I try not to listen to it as much now (or at least until I'm 'cured'- and I'm getting there with that) because I want the beautiful memories I had last summer to remain with it.. unadulterated purity. migamiga 12,101 Posted May 30, 2017 Share Posted May 30, 2017 I actually just listened to it again this weekend cause I was in some thread and everyone was trashing Honeymoon and I wanted to give it a second shot (I didn't like it either when it was released). I was into it but after High By the Beach I was over it. Every song is so slow and boring and sounds like all the other songs. The pacing of the album is just very dull and it all sounds uninspired. Some of my favorite Lana songs are on there though: Honeymoon, HBTB, and Salvatore. AJK273 2,700 Posted May 30, 2017 Share Posted May 30, 2017 Look the thing with honeymoon is that it takes too many moments to be dream time jazz and that gets lost by some of the instrumentals and vocals on the album. If she had just changed the pace of some of the songs on the record they would be much more tolerable and therefore a less hated album. I personally think her Jazz skills on 24 and Terrance Loves You are some of the best in Lana's discography. But some of the other tracks on the record try combining that with trap music and then it just doesn't know what it wants to be as an album.
