bumblebee 2,528
Like with nearly any other music star, 85% of non-casual listeners only appreciate her for her breakthrough record, the one through which they discovered her (BTD and Paradise). The rest 15% of fans understand and probably got it from the beginning that Lana is not the artist to explore the direction that brought her to fame and that she would serve different type of music. We can say whatever pleases and whatever justifies and explains the crash of our expectations after BTD, but all of the albums she has delivered so far are quality materials and are greatly appreciated by critics from various music outlets. Which one is best - It's just the matter of taste. However there is something that makes me worried about her new record. Her previous major releases all contributed to the spectacular variety of her discography, while everything we got from Lust for Life sound too similar to Honeymoon

To deny that most of Lana fans still value BTD and Paradise as her best effort is blasphemy
Luv u Sum 2,391
Yeah Lana used to be one of my favorite artists but nothing from Lust for Life has really moved me

It's overproduced and the mixing is horrible; just take a look at Video Games for example, the way it overrides in the last chorus makes it hard to enjoy it. If she tried to go back to her BTD sound, this would be a horrible step-back from all the artistic growth she's experienced. It wouldn't sound fresh and come off as a try to recreate her success from the BTD era. OMG I disagree so much But respect your opinion The production on BTD is unique on every track, multiple genres and influences. With Honeymoon the production is so bland that every track sounds the same.. nothing stands out. She tried so hard to be melancholic that crossed the line and it became flat and boring To each their own. I basically got through my whole puberty with Lana, so I'm not afraid to criticize her lol. UV falls somewhere in the middle with half of the album amazing and the other just plain filler. 𝖓𝖊𝖜 𝖗𝖊𝖑𝖎𝖌𝖎𝖔𝖓
Pray4FameGa 3,141
As Lana's biggest fan, I can admit my worried. My favourite album of hers is Ultraviolence and I love BTD and Paradise, Honeymoon is my least favourite but I still enjoy it for what it is. However I've been fully convinced of the intent of her vision during every single release of anything, video, song, lyrics from any other era. The LFL era seems weirdly inconsistent and lacking a theme so far. I do think though, and hope, that everything will make sense once she releases the album. I mean if it's gonna be as lengthy as she says (18 tracks at least) there's room for many elements, and every idea she's introduced may be better developed. She gave us this retro space, twilight zone weird aesthetic then released lust for life which seemed completely different. Either it all comes together or she is just losing her ability to edit herself and deliver something cohesive. Time will tell.
