Economy 53,076
@Luc @Gaga Monster @Woolfsmck This seems a little to high to me. I would of raised it to $12 or $13 Even tho the Canadian Dollar has fallen to $0.75 US the cost of things and earnings has not yet adjusted for this fall as that takes time Its too soon for such a hike, especially if Canadian Dollar recovers to its long term average of $0.86 😬
OBEY 57,109
And then will everything rise so the 15$/hour won't really matter after all?
venusfly 17,885
Mixed feelings about this, minimum wage increases can result in a lot of job losses.
kvnrp 48,353
15 $ looks a little high to me tbh But I heard that prices in Canada are generally going through the roof so it fits? idk.
Teal Ambition 47,805
Shocked it's going up this much, I would expect 13$/h. But anything for Wynne to get re-elected so in the end it's not surprising. ▌│█║▌║▌║ before I am Canadian, I am Chromatican ║▌║▌║█│▌

Its a bad impact in economy and jobs if its too high which I think it is in this case. If it was me I wouldnt have raised it past $13/h Anyway to answer @OBEY it will raise the cost if things but not proportionally Not everyone will get a raise because of this because most people dont make minimum wage. Also labor is not the only cost of business This almost $4/H increase is still worth it for people making minimum wage because the cost of things wont rise enough to wipe out their gains But it will wipe out some purchasing power for everyone else I make $18/h. I wont get a raise cuz of this but Ill pay more for stuff 😑
