The Weeknd vs. Bruno Mars vs. Frank Ocean: Battle of the R&B Boys

These are probably the biggest and most popular R&B male artists of today. But which is your favorite or do you think is the best?

Bruno's R&B is very pop, funk, and groove influenced. The Weeknd's R&B is very pop, electronic, and hip-hop/trap influenced. And Frank's R&B is very PBR&B, alternative, and experimental.

 

Here's my breakdown:

Lyrics: Frank with The Weeknd at a close 2nd

Performing: Bruno, he really knows how to put on a show and he's definitely the best dancer of the 3.

Visuals: Definitely The Weeknd. The artwork for his albums/singles are always great and his videos always slay.

Voice: The Weeknd. To me it seems he has the most range, his tone is great, and he's just so easy to listen to and soothing.

Production: Definitely The Weeknd. He's always had some of the best beats, even before he went mainstream/commercial. It's almost impossible not to bop along to a The Weeknd song.

So for me, The Weeknd takes the cake; I love him the most as an artist out of the 3 and his music is the most enjoyable.

Bruno has the best voice, He should do something darker tbh... Abel used to make interesting music but then he went pop and he believes he is the new MJ lol... Frank is talented as a songwriter but I believe he is overrated.

Steve Lacy is the future of soul/r&b/funk tho.

can't decide between Frank and Abel 

Abel wins visually and production-wise, but Frank is an amazing songwriter and he's totally me type of guy tbh

Bruno serves vocals and performance and The Weeknd serves MJ teas imo.

Both are here to stay for a long time tbh.
