The singer was famously banned from Britain in 2010 after being sentenced to five years' probation for beating then-girlfriend Rihanna.

It meant his tour to London, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow was postponed.

Brown's ban was another example of someone being barred for crime, not hate speech. He faced a row over a similar ban proposed in Australia last year.
