highbythebeach 2,475
I have no idea, it's definitely a masterpiece that's both critically acclaimed and is one of her most unique and complex sounding album. It managed to pull off being both diverse and cohesive at the same time with trap sounds in some songs some are mostly strings and drums
StrawberryBlond 14,850
I really think it has nothing to do with commercial sales. Plenty of artists who haven't sold much at all have been nominated and won. Look at Beck, Sturgill Simpson and many more. The Grammys do support commercial success but critical reception can ultimately get you there. While Lana has finally gained some good recognition at long last, it's still not as amazing as others, hence her lack of nominations/wins. It sucks but that's just how it works. Lana's also stuck in the uncomfortable position of "too mainstream for indie credibility and too indie for mainstream success" which also makes nominations very difficult to come by. ItsTommyBitch 12,640
Well. Popularity, public perception, critical reception. To critics, this is her best, most consistent album. That being said, Ultraviolence was submitted for pop categories. It should've been nominated for AOTY and Rock or Alternative categories. I honestly believe it could've won. It was a popular favorite for critics, one of the most mentioned in top 10 lists of the year and showed her amazing versatility and growth and maturity post BtD: P BTD:P was kind of a sleeper hit it seems, but tbh it deserved grammies too. 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから
androiduser 7,438
I was always very surprised how the Grammy academy constantly ignores Lana, even when she was super successful with Born to Die. I mean, these are her only nominations, wtf Paradise Best Pop Vocal Album Nominated "Young and Beautiful"Best Song Written for Visual Media Nominated
