Carly Rae Jepsen - Cut To The Feeling

She might be a "one hit wonder", but seriously, her artistry is what made me a fan.

Her creative control for Emotion made me respect her so much. She is so underrated, and that album is one of my favourites of all time. I am hoping this one is an absolute bop with 80's influence.

EDIT: Wait, it's already uploaded?

EDIT 2: OMG THIS IS A BOP.

In my messy era.

As a huge Carly fan, I will say her voice can be monotone at times. I honestly feel the GP loving "Call Me Maybe," actually hurt her in the long run. I don't think she expected it to be so successful, and the fact it was overplayed everywhere eventually made her annoying to the GP (not to me though).

The fact that "Runaway with Me" has the line "I'll be your sinner in secret," spoke to every gay boy and girl, because we've all been someone's sinner in secret lol at one point. You can say, "it's just an 80's retread," but it's a masterful, understudy retread executed extremely well.

Like if you haven't listened to Emotion please do so, at least the tracks Warm Blood (co wrote and produced with Rostam Batmanglij), Runaway with Me, Gimme Love, I Didn't Just Come Here to Dance, and Your Type. Like the lyrics are easy but also insightful, fun and just catchy to sing. I feel like she just makes music to make it because she enjoys it, she's not caught up in the numbers/charts BS, which is refreshing.

I listened Emotion. Even the b-sides version. And her song with Blood Orange. She is just too thin, too superficial for me. My 80's are early Adam Ant, early Human League, Japan etc... More eccentric and cold, yet bold and catchy. Anyway, her 80's spin doesn't work for me.

update: sounds like an emotion c sides song

I dont know.

It's cute but does not work wonders on me unlike her other works.

It's creeping over to the corny territory.

Walk down the runway but don't puke, it's okay. You just had 10 donuts today. Without frosting.
