Should Lorde Postpone 'Homemade Dynamite'?

It may be triggering also not a good timing to do so. It happened in the past as well, during 9/11 for example.

She shouldn't have to, but she probably should. I remember how after the school shooting, Die Young basically got pulled from radio and something similar could happen here. Lorde's promo seems like a mess, when is Melodrama coming out even?

I would rather if she just chose another song, I don't want the era to get hurt and I also would understand if people consider this insensitive even if the song has nothing to do with the situation.

But it's up to her and her team, I would still support her.

She should postpone- or just release something else.

the question here is why she would even write a song with those lyrics :wtf:

Kindness rules all.

Should she have to postpone? No. Is it a wise move to postpone? Probably.

The public doesn't know or care that Homemade Dynamite was written before the Manchester attack. All they know is that they're mourning the loss of 20~ people, some of them not even adults, and a song about blowing stuff up and watching the glass fall is the last thing they want to hear. Sometimes world events get in the way of your promo and you gotta adjust instead of insisting that it's okay because it was made before the thing and it's a metaphor or whatever. Even if you're right, being right isn't gonna make people buy your inappropriately timed song.

Unlike Die Young, which was released before Sandy Hook (and therefore had its momentum as lead single killed), Lorde still has a chance to pull it back if it really was gonna be released soon.

It's called respect and I think it's better to wait a week and release it..

I agree, it is not like she did this song related to the Ariana terror attack, but out of respect she should either release another song OR wait 1 or 2 weeks.

As far as I know Lorde, she is probably smart and empathic enough to pay attention to such things.
