And at the time, Katy was more likable. The difference is that Katy's contemporaries evolved and are all better performers. Rihanna, admit it or not, matured a bit with Anti and proved she can sing. Gaga went through a whole career rebranding. Taylor changed her genre, matured her lyrics, and became a better live act. Katy is still doing essentially the same thing, and she's older now. With political correctness and cultural appropriation being a thing now, her rent-a-rapper schicht is look like using the black community. Dressing up as other races is not gonna go well either. ARTPOPs demise was the result of fans and mismanagement from Gaga and her team. Why do you say Katy revolved her release around Gaga when Katy literally announced her release first? Half of the time she does nothing wrong but somehow they'll find something to bitch about. I'm not even a real fan of her and it annoys me how they try to destroy her career. Can anyone deny there is a style that permeates African-American culture and that this style of music is dominated overwhelmingly by black artists?
