Not ignorant, just tired of the "cultural appropriation" bullshit. It's like you can't even act anymore without analyzing every single move, pose, facial expression because some people might come at you for "appropriating black culture" or some other culture. Everyone can do whatever the fk they want, people need to stop getting offended over nothing.

IHE 563
Katy is flopping without Bonnie McKee and Dr. Luke. Yall understand that right? Katy lost the talent on her team for varying reasons. They left and took Perry with them. She's having growing pains.

She's relied on them so long for her hits to frame her albums and eras around, that she is lost without them. Up until this point, I didn't realize how much she depended on them. History always repeats itself and female artists always eventually have to be knocked down... She is ignorant, her art is in decline, etc. etc... a lot of people do have valid criticisms. Yet I don't see anybody trying to start a meaningful conversation or educate her or give her constructive criticism rather than rooting for her downfall out of some misguided media-manipulated need for "revenge." Sad. Free my mind

I'm surprised nobody has thought of this. Kesha calling out that piece of trash had impact beyond what we realize. So much of Katy Perry's success has been because of McKee and him. She's floundering, hard, without them. I logged in for the first time in years today. Been a member of these boards since pre gagadaily and I've always been super pressed about Katy Perry's success because I knew she leaned on the talents of others. Now I'm finding myself feeling seriously sad this is happening for reasons I can't pinpoint. I don't care for Katy, but I'm feeling this sloppy era because I l9ve the underdog. Iconic in it's messiness. Her fans deserve this though, just like we did. Also, pop girls need to stop trying to make "beef" songs fetch. It's gross, but Swish Swish is her best song this era. JohnnyVersace 9,023
This is what happens when you pretend to be a feminist, lgbq advocate, political activist and act like you care about the Black Lives Matter advocate. It is so transparent and sad truly.

She literally only nod her heads up a bit and its "acting black"? If a black woman act feminine and classy is she acting 'white' then? Bc thats what the 'white' ideals of what a woman is supposed to be, originally. You cant just accuse white people for things and gets mad when its reversed. Its stupid. I couldn't agree more. I can't stand this BS anymore. The funny thing is that if she showed up dressed as a fking viking or like she was ready for oktoberfest nobody would have said anything, cause those are "white things" and apparently cultural appropriation works only for minorities. And that's retarded. And also, people should stop treating culture as an object: it's not something you possess or steal from someone. Culture is kept alive by sharing it with others. Baduizm 551
Yeah one of the first things me and my friends (who aren't really even in to pop) noticed was how in the Bon Appetit performance she's just surrounded by (mostly) black people that and their choreo is like worshipping her... like what? EDIT: not accusing her of being racist at all but she's very obviously trying to rope in a certain type of audience lmao. and it's off putting when it's so obvious.
