It's growing, not getting my hopes up rn but Sen. Angus King said he thinks Trump will probably soon face impeachment:

I'm not holding my breath, but things are moving in an interesting direction right now. At this point, I'm more on the side of "It's going to happen eventually" than "Impeachment is wishful thinking." 

Will it happen this time around? I'm skeptical but ****, with the way things are going, in a couple of hours Trump will probably fire the director of the CIA, his attorney general Jeff Sessions will probably quit and then Trump will tweet out that sharing top secret information with Putin is no big deal.

I keep saying this...don't impeach Horny Orange Pervert in order to have Fundamentalist Christian, gay-converstion therapy advocate Pence in the highest office!   

[Have lived in Indiana growing up and now returned after years away and when we said "Pence must go" we didn't mean "to the white house"!]

If we could take them all down for being complicit in violating laws, then that is the best scenario.  Otherwise, we have to ride this one out with Mango Mussolini leading the way.  

Everything is bad right now.  We are stuck with 1984 or the Handmaid's Tale with either person as Prez.  It's interesting how reckless, nuclear Trump could annihilate us and lead us into his dictatorship and, on the other hand, extremist religion from Pence would do the same in a way and lead us into a theocracy.    

Try to make the most of each day for now, friends!

McCain is all bark and no bite. He is too afraid to do anything because the rest of his party has him by the balls.

Republicans are treasonous at this point, owned by the Russians and disastrous for the country. They will never do the right thing. We have so much proof that trump has commited high crimes, they simply do not care.

That's not possible. America's not a parliamentary system (and even then I'm not quite sure how parliamentary systems handle that kind of situation.) The order is Trump > Pence > Ryan > Orrin Hatch. (And then after that is Rex Tillerson, but please, god, no, not him either.)

Yeah, that's why I'm skeptical of anything happening atm. It can't happen without Republican support because they control everything and they are not going to impeach a Republican president, especially when he, somehow, still has 82 percent of Republican voters support. 13 percent of Republican voters disapprove of Trump compared to 39 percent of Republican voters disapproving of how the Republican controlled congress is handling everything.

With that said - if the Comey memos are proven to be true, it's seen that he is obstructing justice and the tide turns against him - Republicans will have no choice but to impeach. There comes a point where they will have to do something that major for damage control.

I highly doubt it's going to be today, tomorrow or next week - but it's all getting pretty real right now... Sen. John McCain is not only a highly respected Republican, who was once their presidential nominee, but he has voted with Trump more than 92% of the time this year. For him to turn around and say this is at Watergate levels is pretty amazing.

Republican Jason Chaffetz, The chair of the House Oversight Committee, has had some strong words tweeting this: 

Rep. Justin Amash, a Republican from Michigan, has said details in the Comey memo would merit impeachment if true. Rep. Walter Jones, a Republican from North Carolina, is pushing for an independent commission to investigate Russia's role in the election in the wake of Comey's firing.

The fact that there are Republicans bringing up impeachment and watergate is major, especially when one of them is John McCain. 

When Mitch McConnell and/or Paul Ryan start talking impeachment, that's when I'll know he is over. As of now it's not going to work, but it really feels like it's only a matter of time at this point.

Until Republicans grow a spine and start putting their country before one unbalanced individual, don't get too excited. The GOP has been 'troubled' and 'frustrated' but remain inactive among a week of constant political scandals tied to Russia, on top of an ongoing investigation into the Trump campaigns ties to...wait for it...Russia. 

If they're not on board after this last week, they're not getting on board until something more dire happens. It will truly be 'Breaking News' when a Republican actually shows concern for the damage Trump is doing to our country.

If Trump has done things to warrant an impeachment, the law should be followed. Pence is an anti-LGBT, pro-Christianity nut, but I think it's fair to say he wouldn't be alienating our allies, leaking classified documents to the Russians, and more Trump-era norms. If you think Trump is going to defend the LGBT community any more or less than Pence was, you're living in a fairy-tale. 

In terms of national security, international relations, and some stability, Pence would be better. The only decent thing coming out of this whole situation though, at the end, is that Trump is derailing the GOP agenda with his scandals. Best case scenario would be impeachment and subsequent shift of power in congress to the democrats in 2018 so they could derail any pro-Christianity, anti-LGBT crap Pence would want to pass...

John McCain shouldn't be put in the surprise category. He has been Trump's biggest critic in the Senate. He would be the first person people would expect to speak out and use strong language. The silence coming from the majority is far more telling...but it could just mean they are just as spineless as we expected them to be.

Impeachment has to go through both the House and the Senate and it requires a two-thirds super majority vote in the Senate to impeach. 

Something to think about...during Watergate, Nixon was down to fifty-five per cent approval with Republicans and the reason he was forced to resign (because impeachment was coming) was because there were incriminating tapes. Also, the country and the government wasn't as partisan at that time.

It's a LONG process and especially in this political atmosphere, it is next to impossible to predict what could happen from here.
