I keep hearing its no big deal Gaga doesnt have a music video for The Cure cause songs now do fine without them, and that their impact is limited etc

Yes a few songs have done well without them but in general I think people are lying to themselves :rip:

Popular music videos still get hundreds of millions of views, add a lot to streaming, and the songs always get boost after they are released

Even Bon Appetit which was faltering suddenly got radio resurection and AI gains after music video was released and that song was loosing the little momentum is had

Im just making a point. Music Videos arent as dead as half of you make it sound like :neyde:

The music video has to get people talking, Gaga won't do that.

You know, I think it just takes someone to see the opportunity and bring back music videos. Just like Lady Gaga did back in her days. Artists who want to succeed are focused on streaming platforms like Spotify, which is only natural. Till the day one artist decides to release a beautiful epic music video that gets really big, and others will follow him/her naturally (and yes, Katy Perry is trying really well).

Gaga resurected music videos culture back in 2010. And she did push the music industry towards the streaming culture we are witnessing today by giving Youtube and the Internet major attention. Unfortunately, those days are gone.

Harry Styles' video made Sign of the Times go from #21-#6 on iTunes and surged on Spotify as well. And what's the talk about music videos being dead? Most streams on the Hot 100 per individual song on the Hot 100 are from YouTube, and most parts of the world, music consumption still mostly comes from YouTube, even in America.

Music videos still get as many views or more as streams on spotify. Your making them sound dead and irrelevant when they are not!

Itunes isnt everything

And i didnt say the music video alone was gonna save the song. My point was it help get some attention and a little boost

Also its decent views count as streams!!!

it's not like BA is slaying on Spotify either

If the song isn't good,mv boost won't do anything :giggle:
