"No, I’ve never felt the need to really. No. I don’t feel like it’s something I’ve ever felt like I have to explain about myself.”

“It’s weird for me — everyone should just be who they want to be. It’s tough to justify somebody having to answer to someone else about stuff like that.”

:golfclap: finally a celebrity that shares my opinion on this subject. This is what I've applied in my life the past few years and it has nothing to do with "hiding" or holding back my sexuality. I'm not afraid to upload a photo of me kissing a man on my social media, but I don't have to justify anything to anyone if I ever do. Everyone should be free to experience their sexuality without worrying about owning explanations to the public eye.

Sexuality (as well as gender) are social constructs--so they are subject to fluidity.  But sometimes people use "I don't label" as an excuse to hide their authenticity, which is unfortunate.  Or to pander and sell.

I respect him for not wanting to label himself. I just identify as gay personally cuz I feel like it explains myself better to people. All I hope for is that there would be a chance to fall in love with him. Not only his looks but his British accent would make me melt 😍❤️:wub:

I misread the OP and thought Harry was the one being quoted at the very beginning saying he was gay :toofunny:

Good for him. Though, this might just be a ploy to hype :rip:

Either way, good for him.

Hmmm sorry but I think he's doing this only cuz he wants LGBT community on his side.. And I find it sad cuz it's all just for us to talk..

He has been this way his entire career.

Back when 1D started, his "friends" were revealing news about him being interested into boys and girls in high school. This also isn't the first time he has spoken progressively about sexuality.

Not everyone is out to get gays on their side. Harry knows he has a strong fan base of just teenage girls and anything else is just cherries on top.

Then why not come out as bi or say that he's interested in men and women? By being vague he's not helping to erase stigma around bisexuality and he's not being that progressive. It does seem like he just doesn't want to be seen as a man who likes other men. Why open up, if you're going to be so ambiguous?

He himself has never spoken about possible bisexuality. It was just a few reports near the beginning of his career.

And I mean did you miss the entire point of the OP? He clearly states he doesn't believe in labelling his sexuality. It's none of your business who he is attracted to.

He's way more progressive than a lot of guys in Hollywood. Don't attempt to take that away from him just because he isn't preaching his sexuality from rooftops. You're the reason why people don't want to come out as gay or bi in the first place because then they are expected to live up to the standard of those sexualities. I came out as gay a few years ago and hate when friends ask questions about gay sex or gay relationships. I'm homo and that's that, I don't like being the voice of the gays with people who come to me with questions.

Yes i've only been attracted to men in my life, but i'm a being and should just BE. Labels hold us back

Eh, I think labels are just there for convince. People take them waaaay too seriously, I'll give you that much  Labels are only there to show what minor aspect of our self is aligned with a group of like-minded/like-whatevered people. We are all individuals and should treat ourselves and each other as such :nick:

So :golfclap: to Harry. Amazing album and it seems like he's an amazing guy. I've found a male artist I can stan for

I don't think he has to label himself as bi, but what's the point of "coming out" in an interview if he's not going to shed any light on his sexuality? Someone who doesn't follow 1D might not know what to make of what he says. If he truly didn't want to make his sexuality a big deal, why bring it up at all?
