I'm not discredititing her work, she was big back in the day. Its just its the end of the road for her now and she has to retire now

Its not a bad thing, it just means that she has done her job and completed it. You dont keep stacking shelves in the supermarket until you are ready to die, there comes a point where you have to say enough is enough and retire. Its like Michael Phelps deciding that he was retiring after the Olympic Games. His time was up, he represented his country to the best of his ability and he knew that there was nothing more he could give. This is Madonnas time to retire.

Atleast you wont quote me again on this topic

But why does she have to retire? :duck: What if she wants to be continuing to make music, and since when did creating music have an age limit? Creating music isn't a job that you can simply "complete", people are constantly inspired by new things and want to be creating new and different things as life progresses, there isn't an age where that suddenly stops.

I think the biggest factor in the deline of her vocal ability is aging and unfortunately vocal training won't ever completely remedy the problem. The same thing has happened Debbie Harry's voice with time. As women age their voices become more shrill, shaky and weak. I think changing the type of music she makes and the way she uses her voice could really help.

Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.

Do you want judgemental people to write you off like this and demand you quit one day when you are older, even though you still have the desire to continue doing your job/the thing you are most passionate about? Do you want people saying the same about Gaga?

I'm sorry, but this post is so cringe-worthy. What is she supposed to do? Crawl into the shadow and die because people like you have decided she should be done? I haven't liked any of her releases after Confessions on a Dance Floor, but I believe she should keep making music as long as she wants. I hope keeps doing what makes her happy and feeds her soul even if I don't like the product.

I guess no one in here heard her sing Love Don't Live Here Anymore live at the Rebel Heart Tour. It was pretty good and I was surprised.

Maleficent

I think it's the style of music. Something more mellow and calm like ROL would make her sound better. I think she sounds great on Body Shop and Messiah. She sounded best live during her Reinvention World Tour. She's gone downhill live ever since. I'm hoping M14 is like ROL meets Bedtime Stories.

Fixed:usrs:

I think she sounds really good on all of her albums but you can tell she's relying a lot more on autotune now than previously in her career. That tears of a clown thing in december was her worst vocals EVER. They were really bad and I am a huge Madonna fan. She's kinda resorted to like scream singing

"My name is Dita, I'll be your Mistress tonight..."

I agree. She can still sound nice though I don't like the way she's used her voice the past few albums. She's not the best singer so it's noticeable.

She has children that need taken care of:trollga:

And I'm not saying that she should retire because of age. She should retire because she doesnt have the voice anymore. She cant sing anymore.

What I'm saying is that she doesnt have the voice for it anymore. She cant sing. Thats why she should retire. She could create music when shes 100, but if she doesnt have the voice for it then whats the point? It wont sounds very pleasant to hear

I'm not saying that she should retire out of age, I'm just saying that she should retire because of her voice

While Evita/ROL did help her sing more "properly" and for the demands of those projects, I miss her voice prior to it. It was so raw, there was a growl to her voice in the way she delivered and belted those songs that she hasn't done in ages. Now, she sounds more screechy than sounding like she's commanding you to do something. It's more evident in Hard Candy and RH.
