No I'm actually genuinely impressed with the music. I've always been impressed with Harry even in his 1D days, but this album is my favourite thing released since Lemonade.

This album isn't full of slow songs lol. Have you listened to it? There are more upbeat hard hitting songs than on Joanne.

I dont like his album, it's way to boring to me, however I'm happy that he got a good score!

Do people seriously consider Selena Gomez'z Revival to be on the same level as Adele's 25?

I mean Joanne and ARTPOP both have lower scores than Selena Gomez's albums and we know the Grammys would pick Gaga over Gomez anyday.

It's all relative to each artist though. For example revival may have been a big improvement for Selena even though is not better than Joanne. Critics almost always look at the artists previous efforts and review their current albums with that perspective. So basically these scores are not weighted equally for everyone.

There is still some level of objectivity on what is considered 'great music' in the industry.

I wouldn't try to change your mind but I would think the opposite. I'm not deeming Grammys to be the absolute conclusive determiner either, but there's a reason why Selena hasn't won a Grammy, whereas Britney hasn't even been nominated for years.

Which is why Metacritic can reward bad music with a high score if it marks an improvement for the artist.
