actually I think one of the biggest problems is fans not understanding that, to Gaga, none of these things are "side projects."  Her career encompasses more than pop music and that is what some fans have a problem with.

 

The other problem is that fans tie their own self image into Gaga's success so they are afraid for her to fail and themselves to look bad and get razzed on ATRL.    Thankfully Gaga isn't afraid to challenge herself like many of her fans seem to be.

I'm all for Gaga getting into acting but her reputation will be hurt if she flops with this movie. I guess AHS will be her Jazz.

I honestly don't mind either way, whether it succeeds or fails is her business and I don't mind her waiting till 2020 until she makes another album, as long as it's a good album. So no, I'm not scared of the success or the failure of her movie. But I'm just not excited for it, because that type of movies does not interest me. I wish she played something sci-fi or otherworldly or perhaps something musical or action. But this type of movies is totally not my type, regardless of who's playing them.

Let's wait for the movie to make the final call on her acting. You're looking at things from such a pessimistic viewpoint. It seems like certain fans make up their minds about these things before they even see a trailer.

At The stars aligned perfectly to make Glitter a flop, this movie is a different situation entirely. There's more star power in this project, musicals are more popular and the soundtrack most likely won't be released on the most tragic day in American history.

Honestly I doubt it'll be as bad as Glitter or Crossroads, Bradley is a serious actor and I think they'll make a good job I hope they surprise me and it's a nomination worthy movie

I'm scared because it's a HUGE risk. Not because I doubt Gaga or Bradleys capabilities but it's a movie that's been done so many times. Adopted by so many other cultures alike. I mean the Bollywood remake was a huge hit and that was just a couple of years ago. And so I'm scared the movie will underperform internationally because this is a story people know all too well now.

I feel like out of all the reasons this might flop, if being a remake is one of the least likely. I doubt many moviegoing audiences know it's a remake, the GP isn't smart.
