JohnWayne23 5,227 Posted May 12, 2017 Share Posted May 12, 2017 A month ago it truly looked like Modern Family was over. It wasn't because of ratings, in fact the show is ABC's cash crop. The actors were asking for a raise and negotiations weren't going well. On the day of the last shoot for season 8, the stars took to social media and shared posts that alluded to the fact that they may never shoot a scene for Modern family again. However, the negotiations ended well AND the show was renewed for 2 more seasons! That means the show will have at least 10 seasons. Now people say that the show is bad now and lost its mojo, and that's fine. But i didn't want the show to go off air because of what it represents. Sure many shows like Will & Grace had gay characters, but Modern Family showed that gay men could have a family and weren't always on the search for a new ****. Furthermore, it showed that a latino woman and a white male can be together and be far apart in age. The show normalized things that seemed out of the box in 2009. So I'm thankful its still on, because if it had been canceled, it wouldn't been another hit to liberal society. I'm also excited to see where they took the characters stories.
