I literally don't listen to the radio, I'm just sick of hearing the same songs 24/7. (Unless it's Gaga :giggle:)

I think this is the fundamental reason why I hate the music of today. It's not necessarily bad, it's just that it is constantly overplayed.

Like, I loved Ed Sheeran, and he has some great songs, but it's just that he is overexposed on radio - same goes with JB.

In my messy era.

Am I the only one who thinks it's not as bad as some of yall make it out to be?

It's just music, just because it's popular and your fave isn't doesn't mean it's trash

Some of the music is good...  but most of it seem  repetitive

I agree about Ed.I don't think he's overplayed, his new music is pretty refreshing in my opinion

It's alright I guess, but in the U.K, Capital and Heart have his new songs on power rotation.

music is not what it was

there are probably literally thousands of local musicians in your city more talented and much more deserving of success than those imitation musicians.

and people wonder why pop gets no respect.

Because right now the kids are obsessed with the 90s. And the 1990s were actually the worst period in music. The most image-obsessed decade in music history.

The 1990s was all about hype. No-one wanted to stand out. Same as now.

Anyone who looks cool, that is, disinterested or indifferent, is seen as cool. Anyone who looks like they care is seen as uncool.

Oh come on, it's not that bad.

#1's on the Hot 100 have always, always been popular songs with suspicious qualit value. There are a lot of exceptions, of course, but it has been the way it is nowadays for decades.

To be honest, pop music is not as bad as everyone thinks. The new synths are bringing more melancholic moods, which reminds me a lot of 90's music, voice still is a big deal, and with the new streaming platforms music may become a new experience. So The Chainsmokers songs sound all the same, so what? The only bad songs out there are released by these one-hit wonder rappers who no one ever talks about.

Really tired of listening to people saying this stuff around here. Look at Gaga, she released one of the most generic pop songs from the last two years.

90% of the music I listen to is my nobodies, so I'm not really bothered by what mess is playing on the charts. It's not hard to find worthwhile music :awkney:

You can't actually compare Gaga to Chainsmokers.Gaga has made IMPACT.When will Chainsmokers?

It's about those who will be remembered as legends.Same-trashy people will be forgotten.

We need Gaga to collab with Calvin Harris or Clean Bandit, and then she'll be up there again
