If KP4 flops, do you think there will be a KP4 World Tour?

But ARTPOP as a whole was labelled a flop. Not just by (some) KatyCats (at that time), but also by Monsters, and especially by the media. Hello...ARTFLOP? Yet Gaga recovered very well, even though it's been 4 years, she was still able to sell out her latest World Tour.

Let's suppose every artist has their own ARTPOP era. If KP4 is indeed Katy's ARTPOP, how well do you think she will recover? Will she even do a World Tour for KP4 if sales for the album are lower than anticipated?

But was ARTPOP really a flop tho? I mean, it didn't do as Well as her earlier work But it sold at least 2.5MILLION copies worldwide. Can KP4 do that?

Personally I Love Chained To The Rythm and Bon Appetit, But I'm afraid KP new album is going to flop harder

That's why I'm worried too. Sales in music have declined alot in the last four years. It's much harder to sell one million copies today than compared to 2013.

She probably will, but if she does it'll be a huge downgrade. Many users on here confirmed that her Prismatic tour was very kid centric, and had lots of families in attendance. That market has been split between Taylor, Ariana and Selena now. Most little girls don't want to see Katy live anymore, and she's not the touring force she appeared to be in the prism era.

That sounds about right. Kids from four years ago are no longer the same kids. Plus the new kids have all the other artists you mentioned. I think there is still room for Katy in such a saturated pop world, but she's not unique enough to guarantee the same huge levels of mass popularity she had during Prism. What goes up must come down. To answer my own question in the OP, yes, she will still have a world tour. But it will be majorly downsized from the Prismatic Tour.

Well Katy is not really a touring force and she is pretty underperforming for her standarts, lets wait and see:awkney:

I would attend tho:lolly:

I Think she will do a tour but it wont sold out, basically because she is not a great performer like Gaga or Beyoncé, and people go to see her bc of the hits, and KP4 Is not serving that, Gaga is know for being a great performer even when Joanne is not an album made for charts she sold out stadiums

But BA is flopping. The third single will probably flop too. She might even trash the first three songs off KP4 a la Rihanna with FourFiveSeconds / American Oxygen / BBHMM and only release KP4 when she has a genuine smash. But what if Chained to the Rhythm is Katy's only hit?

But surely FourFiveSeconds and BBHMM didn't flop on the charts as hard as BA??

Yeah, I think she'll still tour as she has enough hits that some people might still want to see live. But the production values will be nowhere near the level of Prismatic and as for the regions she'll visit and the amount of dates she'll do? She may still have somewhat of an audience in America but worldwide...oh boy. Australia gave her an amazing leg of Pink proportions last time but lately, they've shown that they are not here for her, so if she goes, it'll be more of an artRave level of Australian leg we're talking about. She did such a long, extensive tour of Latin America last time and wasn't all that successful so I doubt she'll go there again, apart from maybe Mexico as she's always been big there. And honestly, I don't see her going to Asia at all, they've paid her dust with her new music and she was never the biggest there to begin with. If she does go, it'll just be Japan and at the absolute most, Singapore and Philippines too. As for Europe, they've not been heavily feeling her either. It'll be more along the lines of the European leg of her California Dreams tour there and the chances of her going to anywhere outside of Western Europe and Scandinavia are zero. Africa isn't even a possibility.

All in all, she'll have a tour that looks like artRave and it'll probably gross about the same, maybe even a bit less as her tickets tend to be quite cheap. Its going to be a shock for her, that's for sure. When she was riding high during Prismatic, I remember saying that she'd better enjoy it because she has no chance of having a tour this successful ever again.

Her label would want her to tour to make up for losses/gain profit. However, the question is if there is demand. She had a pretty good tour with PRISM, are fans that ready to see her again so soon without much new hit material?

I don't know. She's no Madonna, she's not yet at a stage of her career where she can have flop albums and still sell out a world tour.

Well, at this point, many things could happen.

Maybe she pulls out a moderately succesful tour ala ArtRave. Or maybe everything could just end up being cancelled ala Bionic- Lotus.

Maybe she just cancels the whole thing and releases another generic pop song that goes #1 like Rihanna.

I mean her tour for TD (which was huge and had 5#1s) only had $60m tour gross :poot:

But her last tour was very successful, I think. Would the downfall be that bad this time?

I think, she will. She has fanbase, CTTR was hit in USA and it did well WW, especially in Europe. Even if BA is flopping, her next single may smash. We don't know what songs she has on KP4. Capitol will do a lot to make this era successful and Katy will end quite good. Maybe not that good like with Prism but still good ;) As you said Gaga recovered after her "flop" era and if Katy will have one, she will recover too I guess :tony:

Gaga recovered because of her VOICE. Katy doesn't have one. She's gonna struggle. A true talent always win expedition.
