You can work with/talk to/be friends with somebody whos gay and still be homophobic. Your logic, and his, are flawed. 

Quavo saying that iLoveMakonnen was "undermining" his career by coming out as gay, and saying that the world is "a f*cked up place" for it is in fact, homophobic. He did sort of apologise, but seeing as how he said the world is f*cked up for supporting someone coming out is an extremely homophobic belief and I do not believe for one second he flip flopped that quick and genuinely supports the lgbt community.
