Stewful2929 786
It's not her fault. Hardly no pop women have been dominating recently minus maybe hasley? It's because this new generation of music listeners is so bad. They don't care about music they only care about if their friends like it. It's a new era of instagram models and makes me want to puke. I don't see anyone getting hits anymore unless they pander to the chain smoker/instagram famous crowds . Ew

Now hits are mostly made by whoever is hot and popular at the moment and not necessarily about the music itself. Things like popularity and age of the artist, and the trendiness of the music will decide what gets supported/promoted the most by the music industry. It's always been like that lol. Gaga was getting hits because she was popular. Then she decided that she's more than a popstar and became pretentious about everything and put out less quality than she used to so she became uncool. I think it's expected for her not to get hits. joanna wasn't outstanding so it's obvious why it wasn't a skyrocketing success; the single choices sucked, the imagery and videos sucked as well except for JW. IF she promotes TC and gets it an actual good & quality video she'll have a hit. If these 2 happen and TC doesn't become at least a moderate hit then yeah, I'll agree with you. Until then, sorry, but you're just making up excuses.

And MR is a hit so... In your second paragraph you are just saying what I already said. I do agree that she needs more promo and a video.

Some of these artists get sudden success thanks to radio, Spotify, YouTube, and so on. Even without much promo. Gaga is not the coolest most popular artist during these times so she actually needs promo. But if the radios don't even pick up a song like The Cure then Gaga won't have it easy for future releases. Which just proves the fact that this goes in circles and basically everyone has his own time. Gaga's might be done, which isn't necessarily a bad thing and we don't have to look up for excuses. Lord Temptation 11,209
But what you fail to realise is that each and every one of Gaga's "hits" is a different kind of hit from the last. There are just too many metrics nowadays to define what is a "hit". For example, Applause was a hit because it was a Billboard Hot100 top 10 single for over 14 weeks. On the other hand, Million Reasons has sold close to over million pure sales. Now we have The Cure which is shaping to be Gaga's biggest - and arguably first ever streaming and hit. It's also her first massive radio hit in Australia and the U.K. in five years. So it's useless trying to get Gaga the same type of overexposure of 2009-2011 where she is constantly talked about nonstop by everyone. Her run of Just Dance-Poker Face-Paparazzi-Bad Romance-Telephone-Born This Way will never be repeated, not by Gaga and not by anyone else. It's simply a different world now. But one things is sure is that her hits will continue to evolve just like her artistry. Also, she might end up like the Rolling Stones as a pure touring artist, who doesnt release any new albums but just keep touring, with maybe a buzz single here and there to keep fans excited. I don't need to remind anyone here that her global Joanne World Tour is sold out. And as anyone who works in music business understands, touring is where you make the most money. MaryJaneHolland 77,348
Indeed. It's sad to see how she sky rocketed to fame and success, but she also rapidly tumbled down. But, I guess I got used to it

If this mainstream, radio friendly and somewhat generic song can't get Gaga a hit, I doubt anything will. It's not about music quality anymore, it's about names, and people will boycott a song because Gaga is the singer. brandonmercury 38
I agree like 99.7% It is so ridiculous... shes like so easily hated on and bashed on around where I'm from.. Im in Montana U.S.A and basically she is never played on any radio stations around here, the only one that really got on the radio up here was the edge of glory and it was over played... The Cure is a beautiful soul, and honestly its the kind of beautiful vibes that the world needs to hear right now, like DJWS stated in his interview, with all the bad and ugly going on in the world, that The Cure, I'll fix you with my love <3 Is what the world needs... No matter what gaga does, she'll never be socially accepted like she used to be and i just don't understand why :[ the cure gets better and better each listen to I love mother monster and will always support, its just hard for the fan base alone to make the songs chart high we need some GP involvement... Gardevoir 9,822
Didn't you come to conclusion that they're waiting for Gaga to be done with filming ASIB and to make TC a summer hit? It's doing really good already, and has no promo at all. What did you expect? Sugar, spice, and everything nice.
ACT2 3,267
but gaga doesn't care about the charts she cares about us I was in shock when she released the cure gaga would never make a song like that so i knew it was for charts That's Gossip
