He is supposed to be up there with DJs like Zedd and David Guetta. This sounds like a recycled version of Slide, hardly any effort put in to make it. I'd argue that he's definitely put effort in, he's gone out of his way to produce stuff wildly different to his recent previous stuff and he's played instruments as well as producing the sounds on computers so I think the effort is there. He first started with funk/disco, but then shifted to electronic when it became trendy. But then it obviously died down since last year *cough* TIWYCF *cough*. He ran out of good ideas with edm sorry And not u saying TIWYCF isn't basic when it's basically a rehash of We Found Love  with WORSE LYRICS Baby, this is what you came for Lightning strikes every time she moves And everybody's watching her But she's looking at you, oh, oh You, oh, oh, you, oh, oh You, oh, oh, you, oh, oh You, oh, oh, oh, oh  compare it to slide's lyrics which are f*cking amazing (written by Frank Ocean ) I might Empty my bank account And buy that boy with a pipe (this line refers to Picasso's painting worth $104m) Buy that boy with a pipe I might, I might All this jewelry ain't no use when it's this dark It's my favorite part, we see the lights, they got so far It went too fast, we couldn't reach it with our arms Wrist on a wrist, a link of charms, yeah Laying, we're still a link apart It's like we could die here all young Like we could dye hair all blonde If we could see in twenty twin Twice we could see it 'til the end lyrically and thematically, Slide is similar to The Fame album's concept of luxury  + It's made with real instruments  tl;dr TIWYCF is trash and made with no effort. Slide and this rubbish is so bad. Frank Ocean has a very good reputation when it comes to Lyrics. Its just the  beat that he is rapping/singing over is trash. Most music nowadays is made using real instuments, its just enhanced in some way when they produce it. Look at Joanne for example TIWYCF was trendy, yes. But it smashed not because of good lyrics, but because it had a beat that you can bop to that sounds fresh, current and dancey. It was a good summer bop.  These songs are what he started his career with. Acceptable In The 80s and The Girls were part of his debut album 'I Created Disco'. This sounds nothing like what he is doing now, so how is he going back to his roots?  Slide and this trash, Rollin, are awful.
