Canada's radio is protected by Canadian artist. What this entails is that Canadian radio stations are obliged to spin Canadian artists if they want to keep their radio permits (it's something like 30%). That's why Canadian radio plays a lot of Drake, Bieber, the Weeknd, etc. Therefore, The Cure will have a harder time breaking into Canadian radio (that's why it's a couple of places behind the US). But I don't doubt The Cure because DWUW smashed in Canada and they're both sonically similar.

Sis overall the cure has been doing better in Canada than in USA (higher peak on hot 100, better on POP and HAC too and itunes)

Oh, I think I must have misread Kworb then  Well that's even more of an achievement because it's a lot harder to break into Canadian radio.
