Magneto 13,437
I've only heard it twice when the album just came out, but hearing it again gives me the exact same vibe. It really sounds like somebody was giving the task to make a song that sounds like Ed Sheeran and went a little overboard And as @Camore mentioned before: the video reminds me of Run Away With Me too. MonsterPaws 2,731
The video is cute. First time listening to the song and I really like it It sounds like my childhood for some reason. Like boyband vibes or something they'd play on Disney Channel or Nickelodeon (but in a good way). Very cute song. And the Irish touch is really nice as well. Spoiler Also, what the **** is up with this hate? Get OVER yourselves, Holy Lorde. It's borderline disgusting.
n0ne 13,105
The song is a bop and I like video. Excited to Saoirse Ronan in it, she's always great. "My people… need to let our bitchiness out. Otherwise, it turns to bile and poisons us"
StrawberryBlond 14,881
That final shot of the city gave me some big flashbacks to the time I visited Galway way back when, when the city festival was on. Great times. But this video wasn't quite what I expected. Again, he could have matched the words of the song to the video more. The darts bit was the only part thatwas almost accurate. I know having videos that involve copying everything in the lyrics can be too cheesy and obvious but come on! Just my personal preference but I was hoping for a brunette for the role. I'd imagined a classic Irish girl look of long black hair and blue eyes, like Andrea from The Corrs in her prime. And I thought he was going to choose a local, non-famous Galway girl for the role. That could have really helped keep his whole 'everyman' image but no, he had to cast a celebrity and an Oscar nominee to play the role, guaranteeing more views and praise. And Saorise isn't even from Galway originally! Her family originate from Dublin and County Carlow. If I was a Galway native, I'd be pretty miffed that one of our local girls hadn't been offered this chance, to make it uber authentic. 7 hours ago, Princess Stache said: He didn't even give Castle on the Hill enough time to grow wtf hungry for a hit much? That song had reached its peak, particularly in the UK, which is always his biggest priority, so he rightfully decided to move on. He needed to have a new single as the last two were released at the same time and are now jointly 4 months old. He needed a new single, so it made sense to put out the song that was the most successful non-single. 6 hours ago, kizurl said: Dive? Happier? Hearts Don't Break Around Here? ****ing Supermarket Flowers? ..........Don't get why he keeps picking his weaker songs as singles..... Because Galway Girl was the most successful non-single. It went to #1 in Ireland, #2 in the UK and went top ten in many other countries. It would be mad not to make a single out of it. But yeah, I would like him to release Hearts Don't Break Around Here and Supermarket Flowers at some point. If he does, he might wait until the colder months, when we're ready for ballads, though. Dorothy Gale 7,575
This is what everyone's raving over? Sorry, I just find Ed so mediocre in so many ways. If you're a pale white guy who panders to women the sky is the limit.
Zazekina 785
I really liked his album "X" and I was hoping he would go into r&b for the next one... But it's not like that and I'm not feeling this album tbh. https://soundcloud.com/zazekina/otra-vez
