Katy Perry is about to be extremely sexual in Bon appétit MV

I disagree when anyone using nudity in their form of art are quickly called as desperate, as far as music video concerned, I can refer to Alanis Morissette's Thank You, which clearly conveyed meaning with her being nude, which connects to the song itself, some spiritual journey for her and she feels brand new after (rebirth) her visit to India. 

As for DWUW, I can't say much neither do you, we do not see the music video in its entirety to have a say how it is.

So, the point is, we will see how the MV later. If it's more Anaconda like, then she might be desperate since it's nothing but sexual message. If it's better than that, maybe not.

I disagree, every artist you have mentioned have been sexual since day 1, maybe except for Britney but her innocent image only lasted 1 album

I don't like how everyone is bashing Katy, I mean she's 32 now, she can no longer keep singing about rainbows and fireworks and making songs for teenagers, she must have come to that realization now so I'm guessing she's risking to lose its main public to make it to a more adult demographic

Definitely. And honestly, it could grow on me. Chained to the Rhythm grew on me. 

In the end, I just don't feel like Bon Appetit is to her standards or connecting with her fans or the GP. So, is it a song worth investing time and money in? I think they should let it flop and move on...cause even if I came around to liking the song, it still wouldn't compare to some of her other work in my opinion.

Whether you are purposely trying to be misogynistic or not, it's still a pretty sexist belief to have. I'm not trying to call you misogynistic or anything since a lot of these backwards thinking ideas are spoon fed to us our whole lives and we don't really have perception that what we're saying or thinking is backwards. 

The idea of anybody expressing sexuality for "desperation of attention" is pretty yikes, as our society and culture encourages us to view sexuality as something "taboo" or "bad"

Point is though that male and female pop stars should both be able to express sexuality, and singling female pop stars out for it is a bit sexist, but the whole idea of rejecting sexuality is a bit of a toxic mindset to have

I don't really care about the raunchy lyrics because I just know she will find a way to put them in a funny and unexpected way in the music video, as usual. She's not a serious artist, yes she released a couple of sad/serious songs (some of them even became singles) but Katy Perry, to me, means fun and well produced music. I can't wait for BA video !

You are missing my point, im talking about a very specific times in their careers, when they underperformed

 

every one of them were sexy before or after a flop, thats why im a Britney fan, if i have a problem with females being sexy i would start since Ima Slave 4 you or California Gurls BUT NOOOOO, im talking about why they feel the need to be ESPECIFICALLY EXTREMELY SEXUAL after a "decent" era, so don't look for drama here

An interesting point to make about Katy though is that while a lot of her songs aren't about sex themselves, they contain sexual lyrics often, like talking about having a threesome in Last Friday Night, or all the innuendos in Birthday, or even wanting to "go all the way" in Teenage Dream  But yes I would say Bon Appetit is one of her more overtly sexual songs, next to Peacock

I think you misunderstood what I said  I'm not trying to start drama or call you out for anything, I'm just saying shaming sexuality (especially in this case where you're only applying it to female pop stars) is problematic, for lack of a better term.
