I seriously don't know what happened this era.. Like, if you told me that KP was gonna do this badly, I would laugh so hard.

She needs to do something, and she needs to do it fast

Tbf, this was coming.

I do believe that Katy's recent political outbursts have somewhat backfired. Gaga, on the other hand, has the voice (and more talent) to revive her career if she pis*es off the wrong person. If Katy has annoyed the GP, I cannot see a comeback because she has nothing else to offer.

In my messy era.

Well this isn't exactly surprising. The song is not that good, it has not that trademark Katy sound which is present in CTTR to a certain extent. It's barely recognizable if you ask me, and if she weren't obsessed with charts I would call that a bold move.

Gaga came out with an album completely out of the current trends and in the long run that paid off: it has been very good in terms of GP perception and it prepared the ground for the superbowl which resulted in a top 5 Hot 100 hit, which is by the way a piano ballad, something really unique in today's music business.

However this is not Katy's case, unfortunately. She has not the vocal ability to pull a reinvention as Gaga, so I think she should stick with her trademark bubblegum pop: it may not be socially helpful or a form of high artistry but it can work at least fanbase wise: Britney did that with Glory and even if she's not the selling powerhouse she used to be, she managed to keep her numbers stable

Remember when we were afraid of CTTR and KP4 in general? How the tables have turned. I honestly feel bad for her since I really do like her. However her cats need this reality check since they trashed Gaga so hard during ARTPOP . This will keep them down to earth in the future.

Hennywise

I've heard a full song of Witness and it sounds more meaningful and has potential to be a slow burner really. She should've just released that instead. 3rd single maybe?

@PartySick I haven't been able to ask about your thoughts on Gaga wearing His outfit. It's okay if you don't like it :hor:

Born To Slay

We shouldn't be surprised. CTTR was only supposed to sell 50k first week and would've debuted outside the top 10 and was only saved with the Grammy performance and her massive radio and Spotify deals.

With Katy struggling to this extent, we should be concerned with her albums performance.

Glory was not stable. It flopped. If only she had promoted...
