katy had three songs (rise, cttr, ba) and none of them seems to truly smash, same was for rih (45s, bbhmm, ao), so we will have to see which route katy goes

maybe should be more REAL, lol like wtf is woke pop anyways? She's always contradicting herself. People are not stupid. she pulls stunts under people's noses and expects everything to go unnoticed.. the Britney comment, the migos collab, .. I think the GP is liking her less and less tbh. Maybe after that she can come back with a better album whose target audience isn't always young kids. She should grow with her fans

Rihanna is cool.  Katheryn is not.

Gaga had the vocal and stage performer talent to fall back on to impress the masses in another form.  Katheryn does not.

 

Katheryn just released a radio/GP friendly signature-Katheryn catchy pop 2ndLEAD single and it's flopping out the gate.

It's a completely different circumstance. Rihanna only had american oxygen that flopped, Katy now has 2 songs that have flopped: CTTR and Bon Appetite. What I think will happen is there will be a push back of her album until August/SSeptember and she will adjust a few things. 

However, Katy Perry has always been the type of artist who does better in singles sales rather than album sales, so no matter what she does her album is going to flop. It's destined to be. There is nothing she can do about it. Without a strong lead single her album wont do any good. And this album has had two bad lead songs. So, It;s over for this album there is nothing she can do to reclaim. She may aswell as release it, and move on as fast as she can.

CTTR wasn't the smash her leads usually are, but calling it a flop is a reach. It did better than anything Gaga put out since Applause (MR is only more successful in the US, WW CTTR is a bigger hit by far)

Ok, point taken but it's still a weak song in both domestic and foreign territories, so her position on releasing an album is still weakened. And since she is a weak album seller in comparison to her single sales, she is till in an incredibly inadequate situation to release her album.

The thing here is that Rihanna is the type of artist that has a big team of writers and marketing people. Rihanna is a brand now and she has a unique voice, she's edgy, she's just a chill girl that has been super lucky to have so much success and pretty much set trends.

Katy on the other hand, this is her first album without the man that lead her to where she is now. Dr. Luke is gone (As far as we know) and they're trying to figure out the sound for her next album. Maybe Dr. Luke left along with a bunch of marketing people that helped create Katy's persona for her past albums. I don't think she's "Flopping" as you guys like to say it. Sure, this is not Adele success but her lead single is still playing on the radio, Bon Appétit hasn't even been out for 24 hours and you guys are already calling it failure.
