Trump misses old life, thought being president would be easier

I said all this even before the election: Trump doesn't know or understand very much outside the bubble he's lived in all his life. He only knows how to surround himself with "Yes Men" to feed his ego and follow his every command. I don't think he wanted to be president in the first place. I think the campaign was intended to be a massive ego boost for him, and I think he planned to capitalize on his loss. (Ticket sales for "rallies," speeches, Trump merch, etc.) When he ended up winning, I think he felt he would just run the country like one of his business ventures without understanding that the U.S. government simply doesn't work that way.

His first 100 days have not been good by any objective standards, and if he's already cracking under pressure, it will be interesting to see how the rest of his term plays out. My Republican/Conservative friends did not support him at all during the election and voted for 3rd party candidates. A few people I know who did support him have been disappointed in his presidency thus far and have begun to be more critical of him, while others have doubled down on their support -- it's seriously like watching pop stans at times. I thought his presidency would be very similar to the Bush Jr. years which I remember quite well, but so far, it's been far more unusual.

I knew this would happen. He wanted to be president just to say that he'd done it. The silver lining to this is that hopefully, he won't want to attempt running for a second term. He's old enough as it is and the thought of doing this for another four years likely won't appeal. He'll be exhausted when his term is up, if he lasts that long. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he stepped down. Thing is, when you've become president, there's nowhere else to go but down. It's the ultimate achievement, nothing more to say. He's better off devoting himself to his businesses, which is clearly still at the forefront of his mind and leaving the job of president to someone who's actually going to treat this as a full-time job. He even admitted he didn't want to live in the White House full-time. That's how naive he's been about the whole idea of this job.

It sounds so depressing, he doesn't sound good. He is complaining about the lack of privacy and how he can't go anywhere.

I am not saying I feel bad for him. I don't, he should have done proper drills before he became president showing him what it is like and all the responsibilities. It just sounds like he is depressed and he wants out
