I always questioned myself if other pop girls released ARTPOP would they still be around at this time point like Gaga is now?!

I don't think so tbh. When will your fave release a 1 million-seller and Grammy-winning jazz album with a jazz legend, do a critic-acclaimed tribute at the Oscars and national anthem and have a Golden Globe-winning role on a terror series after 'flopping'? NEVER.

The run today on itunes UK is GOOD

12

Lady Gaga - The Cure $ 0.3423 0.3325 0.3228 0.3134 0.2986

And all is increasing sales, not because the #1 were decreasing.

Probably. ARTPOP performed well, especially considering the circumstances. At the end of the day it hit #1 with 258,000 copies sold its first week, had its lead single peak in the Top 5 of the Hot 100 and remain in the Top 10 for several weeks, and its follow up single performed well enough peaking at #13 and being certified platinum.

There was a lot of personal attacks and vitriol against Gaga (and not so much her music) during ARTPOP, so I'm quite impressed the era didn't completely fall apart. My main point is some pop girls perform at the same level as ARTPOP did, if not below it. I think if they released the same product at the same time, it would have been better received and a boost to their careers.

It was #41

There's a glitch that put it at #45 each time but it's growing at #41 ;)
