I agree with the fact it's not her best song lyrically but I think that's the point of general lyrics: doing success. A lot of songs today have really general lyrics and had success as well: Let Me Love You, Cold Water, It Aint Me, Hands To Myself etc They may not have all of 'em, but at least a few. And I agree with you, I guess she put out The Cure just to get some commercial success before the tour and help sell some tickets more. I don't think she cares about charts and stuff at this point.
