Second single or not. I recognize that was the impetus for the label to just completely stop promoting it, but radio doesn't ever drop songs that quickly that are hits, regardless of lack of promotion.

I try to keep those things to myself because I don't want unnecessary WPs. Like I said, Spotify approached Katy and offered support. They will do everything they can to make her single perform extremely well at least in their platform. CTTR was in A LOT of playlists that even when it was getting awful callout scores and was not being bought by the public--Spotify was spouting some **** about her breaking records. Why? Because they chose her as their muse. If she falls, their brand is damaged, too. Legitimate points. Katy has traditionally been a huge artist, so she gets deals like this for her lead single. Now that it's flopped, it remains to be seen whether companies like Spotify will be as willing to make that investment again.

pdaines 209
Just for the record, IÂ happen to be a Katy Perry fan, and I happen to like cttr. When IÂ say it is a flop, I'm literally just staying my perception of the numerical reality as a music industry nerd.

One flop doesn't change dozens of hits in her back catalogue. And fairly consistent hits.

JusKeepBreathin 19,311
So, Luis Fonsi just sang the original version of Despacito for the first time in the US on Billboard Awards Latino. Then they played the FIFA World Cup commercial with the song right after when they went to break. I wonder if it will help with iTunes. Â As if it needs it.
