I didn't even dislike her songs on the radio, they were catchy and stood out from the crowd. But the way she looked and her videos... back then I didn't understand that kind of artistry at all. And my overall opinion of "the pop music" was very low. Funny how much things can change Glad I'm not the only one who didn't warm up to her completely from the beginning! But now she's practically my religion angels forever, forever angels

Did you identify with her immediately? Did it take a while for her to grow on you? What quality did she have that made you admire and fall in love with her? For me, I remember I first heard "Just Dance" on an airplane back in 2008 and for the rest of the ride I replayed it non-stop. It was the catchiest song I have ever heard. My first real impression of her was polarizing. This was back in late-08/09. I was obsessed with her music but I found her too cryptic and a bit scandalous with the way she portrayed herself. (Maybe I was too young to understand at the time). But after watching her interviews with Ellen and the debut of Born this Way, I started to get it and became a Little Monster. I feel like I've matured a lot and can fully digest the deeper meanings behind her outlandish and flamboyant persona (which is now one of the things I adore the most about her). I remember hearing pokerface for the first time and being absolutely fascinated with the quirky Italian woman named gaga. Little did I know she would heal me in ways I never thought possible. She became the "mama" I never had ♥️. I thought I knew what love was until I became a little monster. I love you monsters. I was shook as fu*k when I find out that she's wearing wigs. I thought she was bald underneath. Also after Alejandro music video came out, I was kind of creeped out but I still like it and then I showed it to my brother and he was creeped out and he told my mom that I'm watching satanic video on the internet. My mom literally banned Lady Gaga from my life for a few months. Lol my grandma just lost it when gaga swallowed the rosary beads. Funny thing was my grandma would sing along to pokerface and love game but swallowing rosary beads was too much lol I love you monsters. Guest
welcome to your tape gaga, to be honest, i heard just dance on the radio too much and i kinda liked the song but everytime i saw it on tv i switch cause i didnt like her image and video i only enjoyed the song, then poker face was just good music tbh but still not a fan.. i thought it's just a two hit wonder i didnt even know her name and always thought i was forced to like her music due to the radio overplay that was too much back then then bad romance is born and it was really a new feeling, an immediate crush and a need to hear it on repeat, i couldnt even study without listening to it...then i started to search about her and listen to her lives and it was good, the whole TFM was amazing i was let down by BTW era (maybe tooo hyped back then due to TFM) but picked up with MTN and i thought it was unfair to see it underperform and started to be interested in charts then another break for me i wasn't really a fan fan i just followed the trend of good music (applause dwuw) but during her 2014-2016 times i liked her more as an artist with all those vocal improvements polyvalent style, an undeniable force

PaperGypsy 462
i saw just dance on tv in early 2009 by a girl who reminded me a bit of gwen stefani and thought it was a bit of a bop tbh but i wasn't obsessed. a few days later, i saw poker face on tv when i was with my sister and then we started discussing her and which of the two songs we liked better and i said just dance because i didn't start properly liking poker face until quite recently. i then decided to buy her album and fell in love with paper gangsta and how cute she looked in the album booklet. i enjoyed the rest of the fame singles and music videos and that was that. i stopped liking her as much when she released TFM and i was annoyed at how different she seemed to be now. i was officially gone by the time she'd released born this way. it was when i saw applause on tv in 2014 that i was like wow this is a bop so i youtubed her and started listening to g.u.y, judas and applause a lot (obviously i'd heard the last two on the radio but they'd never really clicked with me much before until then). i don't know why but i stopped listening to her as much after summer ended and it wasn't until i saw the AHS hotel trailer that i was like wow again at something she did, idk i just fell in love with the trailer (even tho i'd never seen ahs). obviously i watched hotel (and then all the rest), listened to all her albums again (i'd never listened to born this way fully and only listened to ARTPOP once in 2014) and fell in love. i loved ARTPOP and was annoyed that i didn't care for many of the songs that much when i first listened to it a year before and now i am a fully fledged STAN. i've probably written too much
