And let's face it, "official" statistics always underestimate problems so as not to alarm the public.  Not saying your job is a true reflection of London society but usually when it comes to dealing with money, the truth comes out quicker than it does for other things.

I was a civil servant. We kept loads of statistics away from the public because of how bad they were. The dwp still does. In Boston in Lincolnshire you can walk 2 houses down from any house and there'll be a Portuguese family, for example.

Or how about the fact that there are around 20 large gangs in Bradford, all Muslim,  that will stab any white person that goes in their territory and that includes police. That puts them above the law. But nobody can do a thing about it.

I also live in a city where Islam is the biggest religion (15% of population) and where approximately half is foreign-born, and there's neighbourhoods you could call a getto here. I'm white, 'native' myself and my great-grandma was born literally 300m away from where I live now. But guess what? I don't really face many problems with muslims. I've never been robbed, never been scolded at, never been attacked, never been raped. Police is not that prominent in the Netherlands (can't do much tbh) and punishment is low, yet I feel safe. Islam really isn't that big of a problem as some are making it out to be.

But for the part where it is a problem (because I know many feel that way), I think that a lot can be done with policy that would be just as logical for a left-wing atheist (like Melenchon) as for a xenophobe: influence from Saudi Arabia on european mosques via salafism and wahhabism should be limited and a more moderate islam (like sufism) should be promoted instead. Meanwhile police should be diversified and closer to the people so that there's more social pressure in these neighbourhoods for good behaviour. Income inequality and poverty should be lowered, to lower the incentive for crime and increase the likelihood that poor people climb the social ladder. These are all examples of left-wing policy that will lead to a society less polarised with more security and less terrorism. Migrants will always be poorer with higher crime rates, and the government can't influence that, but they certainly can decrease crime rates and engage 'lost' groups with left-wing policy.

I was watching the John Adams series from HBO and they had scenes from Amsterdam.  Life seemed a lot simpler when everyone was simply Dutch.  Now everything has a million moving parts that have to be layered on top of every other problem.

Crazy? Hun, the only reason I haven't put up a photo of the paragraph from my contract when I was there is that I'll be arrested. I'm giving facts as I was one of the people having to use interpreters.

https://files.datapress.com/london/dataset/2011-census-diversity/2015-11-03T10:50:22/CIS2013-01 Main Language.pdf

Source here from the census information scheme shows that for 22.1% of people in london english isnt the main language. that means that english is the main language for 77,9% of people it is.

The 2 most spoken languages after english are polish at around 8% and bengali at around 6%

@ShockPop

I understand that at your job it might feel like most people dont speak english but this just isnt true.

I respect your opinion just dont spread misinformation, it doesnt help anyone

Not to mention the 1400 Sikh and white girls raped by Muslim gangs.  That went under the radar for a decade. I read the inquest and it was shocking how the authorities covered up the truth.

You literally are wrong. I understand you're all for publicly available stats, but they're a joke.

Learn what the dwp is.

I didn't take part in the census. Did you? It's inaccurate.

The odds are extremely low, even if she enters the second round and faces Fillon or Macron she is projected to fail.

However, if she and Mélenchon enter the second round, it will be like Russian roulette with one missing bullet in the revolver

The odds were extremely low for Trump, and he was projected to fail as well (the compilation video of everyone predicting Trump's lost is pretty embarrassing tbh :poot:)

Fingers crossed she doesn't make it.

This. Few of my neighbours are Muslim and they're the sweetest people in the neighbourhood! Always pilote, askin news etc. They even ring at our door during Ramadan to share a meal or pastries :diane:

It's important to notice also that Switzerland is not part of the EU, and their economy is on point, actually most french people decide to live at the frontier so they can get a job there which is paid double.

Actually the number of French people working in Switzerland is around 160 000. Metropolitan France has a population of 65 million.

Its sad that there are people that are so entrenched in their ideas that even when the facts are shown in front of their face they can't admit they were wrong. I respect how you feel and your beliefs, however you can't spit out such an insane lie such as that english is the 3rd most spoken language in London. Do you know in which city english is the 2nd most spoken language? Mexico city, so are you telling me that Mexico city has proportionally more english speakers than London? I have lived in both cities and that is just NOT THE CASE.

I am sorry and i hate getting into petty fights on the internet but I can't let lies like this being spread.

Take care
