Shawn Mendes, Justin Bieber (not always but very often) and I'm sure there are others too.

JB is usher 2.0, all gimmicky but made decent songs recently.

SM is....just ugh.

i just would never go see a tour with an artist that did that. Like Evan if I liked them. I need to be ENTERTAINED

I don't see JM in the charts, but he deserves a shot at it.

Ben Rector too tbh :nails:

I guess that's how business works...but who gives a damn. With the current state of music industry, artists are getting paid less than it used to be. So using same formula for success would give another era of financial immunity and grants you another opportunity to prove yourself that you should be taken seriously as an "artist". He's still on the right track.

I don't really give a damn what he's uttered recently.

:nails:

Why would he be taken seriously by repeating the same formula? Being thirsty for money do not make someone a true artist :madge:

He's not the best singer, just like adele, but he entertains me enough. I'm aware of the hatred towards ed, maybe due to what he said to gaga, but we rarely see popular male singer with just guitar and mike performing on stage, without back up dancers, crazy props all that jazz; i think ed deserves the success has right now. Sure, SOY is generic a la CT, but he has much better ones from his current album.

What did he say about Gaga? 😶

Ed can release any generic music, repeating same formula, any time he or his label wants. He could release an "artsy fartsy" album later in her career (unlike gags who experimented (i.e. BTW) too early in her career :nails:

Nothing, but he said artists who want musical integrity are dumb. And Gaga is one of them

Ugh, such narrow-mindedness. Reminds me of Adam Levine with his arrogance.

What a hypocrite. He - arrogantly- criticize other artists for being so arrogant and all knowing after hitting it big time once or twice.  :awkney:

Red Velvet

We will wait until Gaga has bein in the Top 10, Katy being on the top 10, Beyoncé having another album in 1 year, Kesha issues done, Nicki Minaj ruling the charts with Regret In Your Tears, Rihanna releasing this year and Lust For Love by Lana get there.

I'm like some kind of supernova

Horrible. Its a shame that a literal copy-pasted song like Shape of You is dominating the charts, meanwhile Sia struggled last year to make the original song a hit.

Idk, 2017 hasn't been a good year for music so far imo... The house/EDM trend is getting real old. It kind of feels like how it was before 2008 & Gaga, she just revitalized the music industry back then. I'm hoping something like that will happen soon again...

I'm hoping Gaga releases an EP that has her unique touch, but considering how busy she's gonna be with her movie & tour that feels unrealistic. :(
