Would you watch the movie if Gaga wasn't involved?

Because it's cool to get recognition for your hard work, if Oscars were not important, no one would aspire to have one

I know, and I was SO MAD when Gaga lost last year. But monsters (including me) have really high hopes for her, but winning an Oscar for acting in her first role is really hard to do. Then again, she is Lady Gaga so who knows...

Honestly I love musicals, I prefer campy musicals like Hairspray, Grease and Little Shop of Horror though, but honestly I'll give anything even remotely related to Judy Garland a shot:tony:

Illuminati sis, pls let it be good  :tony:

I love musicals, this is not the problem but the fact the music will be country influenced. I do not like country (it sounds boring :awkney:) and I was hoping for a more classic musical songs approach, maybe with a jazz/modern twist. I don't know, I have mixed feelings atm. (like, the music genre is the biggest problem, the look of it based on the set pics okay. - and close to that what I imagined, and I trust Gaga with her acting)

But maybe everything changes when the first trailer drops...

When this had Beyonce attached I was pretty much uninterested, so Gaga being in it is definitely a factor for me.

Also, this isn't really an actual musical like La La Land. It doesn't sound like they'll be randomly bursting into song. It sounds like it will be a movie with music heavily featured, like Selena (1995).

It's not a musical in the style of a Hairspray, Little Shop Of Horrors, Grease, Etc.....It's a musical in that it has music in it, like live concert footage, etc.    Think of The Rose with Bette Miller or, idk, A Star Is Born with Barbra Streisand. Lol.

I have nothing against musicals and if done well, I enjoy them. So really it depends on how well it would be promoted, with good promo I might have been interested enough to watch it.

But because of Gaga I'll be there at the premiere and everything ffs

be kind guys

I'm a huge Judy Garland fan and have been following this project since 2011 when Bey was still attached. I would've seen it whether or not Gaga was in it or not, and am super curious about how it'll turn out/be received. An original soundtrack from Gaga is way more exciting to me than another album with a traditional era, at least right now. If this does well it'll further establish Gaga in a field outside of music and potentially lead to awards recognition (most likely for the soundtrack). I don't think Gaga wants to be the HBIC pop girl anymore, or if she does she doesn't want to do that forever. I think Gaga wants to become a multimedia icon. Music, film, television, possibly other ventures as well. She's on her way to becoming this generations Cher.

I understand you, and yes the story seems cliche and all, but I mean it's gaga, this movie won't be petty or of a crossroads tire. It will probably be worth it, even if for her acting.
