So, I have been following the news about the movie and stuff and I have come to a realization: I would never watch it if Gaga wasn't involved in it :flop: For two reasons: 1) Musicals are not my cup of tea; 2) I saw the synopsis and honestly, this story of a girl rising to fame has been done so much (I am aware the 1937 original was one of the first, if not the first to explore this cliché, but still) and is so uninteresting to me. Don't get me wrong, I'll still watch it to support Gaga, give it dat promo to family and friends and light my Alejandro candles for dat Oscar but I wouldn't if Gaga wasn't there.

Do you relate? :oprah:

Don't relate. I love musicals (my most recent fave LaLa Land <3) I'd still watch it even if Gaga wasn't int it. So excited!

I would definitely still watch it with or without Gaga as it's an absolute classic (personally I prefer the Judy Garland version), but the fact she's in it just takes it to another level. I can't wait to see our girl truly become a fully recognised triple threat by the GP and reach Cher, Madonna, and Whitney levels of legend :diane:

Yes, I also would buy C2C if it wasn't gaga lol

But if Gaga wasn't involved I'm not sure the album would even come to a lot of people of our age's attention

I wouldn't watch if Gaga wasn't in it.  I wouldn't have watched AHS Hotel if it weren't for Gaga since I have a severe fear of blood, I have anything somewhat scary, and I hate horror. I know, an awful season for me to try and watch with a fear like that.  The things I do for this woman :smh:

I don't care for musicals at all. But I care for Gaga's music.

And, honestly, seeing her in a lead role in a theatre is really exciting. But no, this isn't the type of movie I'd go pay to see if it weren't for a favorite in a lead. But then again, I paid $10 to see Sin City just for those 3 minutes :madge:

I don't really go to the cinema to watch movies with stories like ASIB. I usually watch comedy/adventure/sci-fi movies. Gaga would be an exception, of course.

But I do love musicals and I watch them on netflix or just on the computer.

I love musicals, so I am excited about it. However, I do not think the plot is as cliche as many think of it...

Spoiler

Spoiler

It is a tragedy. The story of alcoholism was so sensitive before that the 1954 film was so acclaimed.

Also, maybe the good thing about the film to appeal to nonmusical fans is that they are not singing show tunes.
