Because we're everything the islamist hate, we're free. Our newspapers don't hesitate to draw or parody the Prophet (which is forbidden in Islam) because of freedom of speech. They see that as a bait. Then our army, we're the 1st army in Europe so it leads us to be more involved in Middle-East and Africa militarily. And finally, France and French care a lot about secularism. It's one of our legacy from the Revolution.
