Go figure. I personally LIVE for The Cure! She's done so many different genres and sounds that I think this is just another box checked on her whole body of work. I can just see her now.... Radio: "Lady Gaga is over" Gaga: "..... Hold my beer!" This is her Hold My Beer moment!!! Shaketh thy people! I don't think you understand what I wrote
RegiRey 443
THE CURE slays, I understand why people say that its too mainstream and trendy. But it is something NOONE predicted and it was risky and bold which is something that gaga ALWAYS does. IMO she did not sell out and its still very GAGA. I hope for more music like this over Joanne( i still love Joanne)

Judas Society 3,584
This song reminds me that we should never be able to expect anything from her. And also that if she wants to make a hit maker that sounds GP friendly, she can totally do it in an instant. Sure, this is more mainstream that I like her to be, but at the same time I feel completely at ease now that the artist that I love can make sweet songs like The Cure and go the route of Sinner's Prayer at the blink of an eye. She's the artist that this generation needs.

TimisaMonster 31,073
It does seem that her label and maybe even she was tired of not having a hit in years...she decided to shift from Joanne and release a trendy tropical pop song that will generate some buzz and GP appeal for her. Does this mean she's done with Joanne as an era? Maybe...JW video did say "THE END" and it seems like she may be releasing a more pop friendly EP before the tour, so she has more material to play since Joanne is very "mellow" for the most part besides a few songs that are more upbeat Overall...I don't like the song. Not just because of the annoying tropical parrot sounds, but the vocals are too whispery, the instrumental isn't "strong" enough and the lyrics are a bit repetitive...it's like she did the song in a day and did a cookie cutter trendy song of whatever is playing on radio rn... Otherwise, it's a pretty good song. To each their own. Actually the raw, soft vocals are the highlight for me. The charts are full of computer voices so I'm happy she's sticking with her talent, especially on a song that is meant to be a hit. It's a statement. The song is quite generic but that's my only complaint. It stinks of Gaga's songwriting style, the hook is as good as always and the R&B edge to it makes it extremely pleasing. They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.
SpinThatShhh 8
No. It still sounds like a Lady Gaga song to me, especially with the the R&B influences it reminds me of Do What U Want, So Happy I Could Die and Second Time Around. It doesn't have a cheap drop and still has a big chorus and gorgeous melody. The only thing I think it's missing is a bridge. It feels like a The Fame demo remixed in 2017. ChvVolk 2,317
I can't think of any other artist to do big choruses like her and it honestly reminds me of a more upbeat version of DWUW

JR Gg 12,985
I think it is still Gaga. I mean if this a generic song it's the best generic song lol. Who says generic songs don't have quality? Gags' have. Plus i LIVE for her melisma and falsetto in the song. I repeat, LIVE
BloodyM 1,256
After a few days listening, I have come to terms that I actually do like the songs. The only party which I don't like is the chainsmokers sounding instumental bit. I'm sure that they could have came up with a cooler innovative trendy sound. alejandreaux 1,053
literally every pop star updates their sound to keep up with the times though. when Madonna and Janet were entering the 2000s decade, do you think they were still making the same type of music they made in the 80s? NO. they made stuff like "Music" and "All for You" which were straightforward simple pop songs that were trendy radio candy at the time. most of the all time greatest pop stars have done this. i dont know why it's illegal all of a sudden just because Gaga did it. especially after THREE YEARS of her making jazz/country/soft rock music lmfao. Some of y'all will always find something to complain about I swear.
