The song is not tropical house and just because it's catchy doesn't mean it's generic. Even worse, those saying it's awful and basic but still stanning DIC. ..... That's the TEA

He's always producing on trend songs that are bops. Remember Do What U Want? Totally on-trend with that Fancy/iggy bass line. Total bop. THis song stands out with those lyrics, I think they're the best lyrics she has written in years! You all always say she needs to be more relatable, and then she drops this! It's incredible. I really love the message of the song. The vocals are higher than I've heard her in a studio track too. She sounds heavenly. The whole thing is so FRESH I can't stand it. That said, I was disappointed for like 10 minutes after I first heard it because Gaga wasn't totally single-handedly reinventing music lol. Which is really just an incredible expectation that we put on her. But there are so many things to love about this song, I'm addicted! DJWS did not produce it. The rhythm is trendy, but there is a dark and aggressive sensuality to the song overall that is lacking from radio, and elements like a sitar solo and surf-rock guitar licks set it apart. That's the thing about Gaga. The genres are not new, but the details make it different. With "The Cure", however, there's nothing in the songwriting or production that makes me go "Yup, that's Gaga." Well, if we take out the weird screams it has during the hook it would sound just like a Sia song imo. The ending of the song is the part that sets it apart, but it's still mainstream as hell. Now that I agree with, if it wasn't for that chorus that reminds me of her unreleased stuff I would never think it is a Gaga song, but calling it generic trash while stanning DIC is just dumb. Trend or not trendy aside, even if we take out the more unusual bells and whistles from "DiC", the melody, the chord progressions, the hooks, the whispery bridge, the outro, are all good enough to stand on their own. My main issue with "The Cure" is that the songwriting is not sharp enough to overcome its 2008 aesthetic.
