Well top 40 is top 40. Its whats mainstream and popular and trendy. Top 40 in its nature is like that

 

But its not like other music doesnt get exposure in other radio formats. They just dont have as many listeners

 

So its obviously what the people want also not just radio stations

 

If ppl disnt like the trendy stuff, top 40 would start to loose AI to other formats but the fact that Top 40 alone consistantly makes up half or more than half of total AI when theres several formats tells u everything
