Gaga went trendy, why?

This is the first time Gaga has ever gone trendy, why? TF and TFM we're completely different pop dance records at the time. BTW was a lot darker and different. ARTPOP was Gaga on acid. Joanne was country pop. And now for the first time ever, she went with a very popular trend, the tropical sounding thing. Why?

You guys didn't ask this when she released DIC :interestinga:

Spoiler

To answer the question though, to surprise the fans (and probably gain a bit more relevancy, it's not a bad thing though). It's an amazing song though, I love everything about it.

I think at this point she doesn't care and is just doing what she wants.  Maybe she just wanted to do something catchy for fun!  I was a little disappointed that she went with that Justin Beiber sounding synth hook but hey, its catchy and fun

Her worldwide career and commerical success is walking on eggshells, she needs a trendy song to fix it.

You people wanted this, remember those days when y'all begging for DIC which FYI tropical tunes to be 3rd single?

And she give better option that is new song, and y'all mad?

LMAO

I'd argue that Telephone was a stab at trendy. It has the dance-pop style that she made popular but it wasn't as edgy as Bad Romance, for instance, was at the time. And it had another big star on it, and always sounded like a very accessible song. That song was made to be eaten up.

Million Reasons isn't really trendy but it's a simple ballad, a very safe single choice.

I think they just wanted to capitalise on the radio re-build that happened with MR, and I guess Interscope decided there was nothing left on Joanne suitable enough to do that. I don't think she was forced though, she seemed to really enjoy herself when she was performing the song.

YES!!!!! It's fo f*cking annoying, like y'all wanted this!!!!

Like, was it just me that remembers the 100 DIC threads talking about how they wanted it to be the next single?? It's the same tropical-pop genre, what's the difference? This is so much better than DIC too.

I feel like this song is her actually caring about chart success and doing what she thinks the gp likes.
