She has said that she doesn't but it's always been so obvious. Im still surprised about her decision to do this but ultimately she's a pop star. She has to stay relevant - it's clear she doesn't want to be an indie star (jokes aside). I think Gaga can continue experimenting and be commercial all as one. Joanne was a big change in sound and now she's back to something very pop again. I think of an artist like Madonna who has had a career with jumps between big pop smashes and and more experimental dips. I get why fans don't like it and it may seem like a "sell out", but I really don't think it is. In fact, Million Reasons was a pretty safe single too imo. My opinion is you can't be both and live with it. You can't act like you're far superior than the others while releasing something that is at the very bottom of creativity (=commercial sound), there is no integrity in this and I don't respect that. She always said things along the lines of "I'm always trying to bush boundaries", "Not just another pop girl" and more I guess, well it looks like it's not true. Joanne isn't experimental in any way, it's a safe album with a classic sound that doesn't bring anything new to the table so I won't even talk about MR (I have talked about it way too much already ) I'm definitely not trying to fight with anyone here but it amazes me how hypocritical people are being right now with this song. This song was MADE to chart well in the current music industry context and it's pretty laughable to witness all these members flipping their viewpoints just to go with the flow. I'm disappointed in her and I am willing to talk about it, I don't really care if other members can't seem to handle it. And she makes the single cover the same style as the ARTPOP covers, as if to say this is what it looks like, done right. So sassy! inb4 this is really from ARTPOP Act II What a kii this would be

The first thing I thought when I heard this was 'Gaga is at the tail-end of another music trend'. I like it though, and I'm so glad it is not a Tropical-House song. No, pretty much everyone on this site used to hate "tropical" songs, until Gaga came up with one. Now people who used to say "keep it" and "basic trash" in every thread about a new "tropical" release jumped on that shitty and tired trend. And it's ARTPOP all over again and the tired EDM sound. But now with the latest tired trend. She's late, again. Hate to break it to you but it's not a tired trend

People that dont know their full statement on the situation are the ones complaining. Those are the same people that come, read threads "Gaga is charting" and reply "YAAAS!" New thread: "Gaga released a new song: The Cure! HEAR HERE!! " Replies: "Omg it's so generic. Omg what is she doing!?! Ugh!" New thread: "The Cure is number one on itunes and billboards" those same people will reply with bullsh*t like "OMG. ITS CHARTING. YASSS GAGA. IT TOOK ME A FEW PLAYS TO BEGIN TO LOVE IT. BUT YAAAS GAGA. WOW. TALENT ALWAYS WINS! SLAY MAMA!" Those are the same people that dont realize that Gaga comes here and sees all this bs. It may be a fansite, but it is a fan site dedicated to her. So guess who is gonna come here and read this messy thread? You want me to feel bad for calling out those who are not fully informed after the statements they made? Lol. Like Madonna says "LOOK IT UP!" And you're putting me in the same category with those people which I don't even act like that. You don't know me. And how is that even relevant to what I just posted. Clearly you're on something. And you know people are allowed to have their own opinion on things no need to go crazy over small things.

I'm disappointed in her and I am willing to talk about it, I don't really care if other members can't seem to handle it. Well Gaga is kind of a walking contradiction in that respect, and always has been. She always said she doesn't care about success and money but has on many occasions bragged about those things and even completely withdrawn when certain projects flopped commercially. She's also defended her chart performance by bringing out specific figures and positions etc. She also praises people like Britney Spears as idols of her while also bashing singers that lip sync, don't write their own music etc... Gaga has long flip-flopped on this kinda thing and to me this song is just an extension of that. Sure it seemingly goes against things that she has said in the past, but... that's not new for her. I said it's an experiment for her. I didn't say it was Björk-esque convention breaking piece of experimental music, but it's certainly (on the whole) new for her. I absolutely agree that it was made to chart well and it's fair to be disappointed by it. I'm glad that you're able to express that respectively and don't want to fight/cause negativity
