She used a rap remix on some of the singles in the later half of TD. People were quick to note that whenever her latest single slipped to #2, she would discount it and release a rap remix. Or, in the case of ET, she made the remix with Kanye the official single version, likely because her label was suddenly worried that the single was too 'out there' to make it to #1 on its own. Luckily, she almost completely abandoned this in her Prism era, although there was a feature on the Japanese release of Dark Horse and she did a remix of This Is How We Do with Riff Raff. But not to the same extent. But what with her claims that this album was going to be more experimental and more real, I really thought this would be the era where she would keep the original versions intact and not do rap remixes to keep a flop song going. But she's already going back to her old ways.

The problem is, she's saying that her music is something it's not. Her attempts at experimentation are actually very tame and still tapping into what's popular. Gaga has been accused of the same thing since the beginning. We're only applying the same standards to Katy. I don't want anyone getting a pass for the things that they don't let Gaga get away with.
