I was led to believe in the beginning that they were uber strict Christians who hated her career choices and her songs. But then I was sure I heard Katy saying a few years later that this was nonsense and saif they were conservative Christians but they've always supported her. I'm not sure what the truth is anymore. I don't think I've ever seen a photo of her with her parents at any red carpets but I remember her grandma accompanied her to The Smurfs premiere, I think.
